Bonus Terms

Wagering Requirement

The number of times you must bet your bonus (or deposit + bonus) before you can withdraw winnings. Expressed as a multiplier like 35x or 40x. Higher = harder to clear.

Example: 1xBet casino bonus has 35x wagering. A $100 bonus requires $3,500 in total bets before withdrawal.

→ Calculate your wagering

Keep Rate

The percentage of your bonus you statistically retain after clearing wagering requirements. More intuitive than EV. Calculated as Expected Value ÷ Bonus Amount × 100.

Example: A bonus with 70% keep rate means you'll statistically end up with $70 from a $100 bonus after wagering.

→ See any bonus Keep Rate

Expected Value (EV)

The mathematical expected return on a bonus after house edge costs. Positive EV = profitable long-term, Negative EV = loss long-term.

Example: A $100 bonus that requires you to lose $105 to house edge to clear = -$5 EV (not worth claiming on slots).

Sticky Bonus

A bonus you can bet with but never withdraw — only winnings generated above the bonus amount are cashable, and the bonus itself is removed at cash-out. A sticky bonus has a lower real Keep Rate than a cashable bonus with the same headline number.

Example: With a $100 sticky bonus, finishing wagering with a $180 balance lets you withdraw $80 — the $100 bonus is deducted when you cash out.

→ Price a sticky bonus

Free Bet

A bet credit where the stake is not returned with winnings — the payout is (odds − 1) × stake instead of odds × stake. The standard welcome-offer model at Nigerian and Kenyan sportsbooks, and roughly half the cash value of an equivalent cashable bonus at typical odds.

Example: A 10,000 KES free bet at odds 2.00 pays 10,000 KES profit; the 10,000 KES stake itself is kept by the bookmaker.

→ Free-bet qualifying accumulators

Game Contribution

The percentage of each bet that counts toward wagering requirements, per game type. Slots typically 100%, table games 10%, live blackjack 5%.

Example: If you bet $10 on blackjack at 5% contribution, only $0.50 counts toward wagering. This is why blackjack takes forever to clear bonuses.

Welcome Bonus

The first-time bonus given to new players. Often a deposit match (e.g. 100% up to $500) and may include free spins.

Example: 1xBet Nigeria: ₦2,550,000 welcome bonus + 150 free spins. BC.Game: 120% up to $1,000 first tier.

→ Compare welcome bonuses

Reload Bonus

A deposit match bonus available to existing customers, typically weekly or monthly. Usually smaller than welcome bonus but repeatable.

Example: 1xBet's Friday Reload: 100% match up to $100 every Friday.

Cashback

Real money returned to you based on your losses over a period (daily/weekly/monthly). Best type of bonus: no wagering required.

Example: 1xBet Weekly Cashback: 10% back on net losses, credited Monday, no wagering.

Free Spins

Spins on slot machines that don't cost your own money. May have wagering on winnings depending on terms.

Example: BC.Game welcome includes 400 free spins across 4 tiers, with 40x wagering on winnings.

No Deposit Bonus

Bonus credited for signing up, without requiring any deposit. Usually small amount and high wagering.

Example: BC.Game's Daily Lucky Spin offers up to $5 no-deposit winnings with no wagering.

Max Bet Rule

Limit on how much you can bet per spin/hand while clearing a bonus. Exceeding voids the bonus. Typically $5 at crypto casinos.

Example: 1xBet casino bonus has $5 max bet. If you bet $10 on a slot, the bonus (and winnings) are voided.

Game & Math

RTP (Return to Player)

The long-term percentage of wagered money a game pays back to players. A 96% RTP slot pays back $96 per $100 wagered statistically.

Example: Most slots: 94-97% RTP. Blackjack: ~99% RTP. Roulette: ~97.3% RTP. Higher = better for player.

House Edge

The casino's mathematical advantage over the player. Equals 100% - RTP. Slots ~3%, table games ~1%, blackjack ~0.5%.

Example: A 3% house edge slot means the casino keeps $3 per $100 wagered long-term.

Variance (Volatility)

How much results deviate from average. Low variance = small frequent wins. High variance = rare big wins, many losses.

Example: High-volatility slots (e.g. Book of Dead) can go 50+ spins without hitting. Low-volatility slots pay small amounts frequently.

Provably Fair

Cryptographic system allowing players to verify each game result wasn't manipulated. Uses seed values that can be checked after each game.

Example: BC.Game's Crash, Dice, and Plinko games are provably fair — you can verify each outcome.

→ How BC.Game's provably fair works

Survival Probability

The chance of still having bonus funds remaining at each point during wagering. Decreases as you play more due to house edge.

Example: At 35x wagering on slots (3% edge), survival probability drops to about 35% by the time you've cleared wagering.

Casino

KYC (Know Your Customer)

Identity verification required by casinos, typically before first withdrawal. Includes ID, proof of address, sometimes payment verification.

Example: 1xBet requires KYC for withdrawals. BC.Game rarely asks for it (crypto-native).

AML (Anti-Money Laundering)

Regulations casinos follow to prevent criminal funds. Includes KYC, transaction monitoring, and reporting large deposits/withdrawals.

Licensing

Regulatory authorization to operate a casino. Curaçao eGaming is most common for crypto casinos. Malta (MGA) and UKGC are stricter.

Example: The global 1xBet and BC.Game sites hold Curaçao licences, while their Kenyan sites (1xbet.co.ke, bcgame.ke) are on the 2025/26 register of Kenya's GRAK (formerly BCLB) and 1xBet's Nigerian site (1xbet.ng) is on the Lagos LSLGA list (checked 29 September 2026).

No KYC Casino

Crypto casino that doesn't require identity verification for withdrawals. Typically only available with crypto deposits, not fiat.

→ Best no-KYC casinos

Bonus Abuse

Playing in ways the casino considers exploiting bonus terms — e.g. multiple accounts, specific low-risk betting patterns. Can void bonus and ban account.

Fingerprint

Device identifier used by casinos to detect multiple accounts from same device. Combines browser, hardware, and network info.

Sports Betting

Accumulator (Parlay)

A single bet combining multiple selections. All must win for payout. Odds multiply together. Required for 1xBet sports bonus wagering.

Example: 3-fold accumulator at 1.50 × 2.00 × 1.80 = 5.40 total odds. All 3 selections must win.

Decimal Odds

Odds format showing total payout per unit staked. 2.50 odds = $2.50 back per $1 bet (including stake).

Example: $10 at 2.50 odds = $25 total payout ($15 profit).

Both Teams to Score (BTTS)

Bet that both teams score at least one goal in the match. Yes/No market. Popular for bonus wagering due to middle-range odds (typically 1.70-1.90).

Over/Under (Totals)

Bet on whether the combined goals/points will be above or below a set number. Over 2.5 goals means 3+ goals total.

Example: Over 2.5 goals odds typically 1.70-2.20 in Premier League matches.

Asian Handicap

Handicap betting that eliminates the draw. Home -1.5 means home team must win by 2+ goals. Half-stakes on half-goal lines.

Example: Liverpool -1.5 AH: pays if Liverpool win by 2+ goals.

Minimum Odds

Lowest acceptable odds for a bet to qualify for a bonus. 1xBet sports welcome requires 1.40+ per selection.

Example: A 1.30 odds bet won't count toward 1xBet sports bonus wagering because it's below the 1.40 threshold.

Double Chance

Covers 2 of the 3 possible outcomes: Home or Draw (1X), Away or Draw (X2), Home or Away (12). Lower odds but safer.

Crypto

USDT (Tether)

Stablecoin pegged 1:1 to USD. Most popular crypto for casino deposits due to price stability. Available on multiple networks (TRC-20, ERC-20).

→ USDT betting Nigeria guide

TRC-20

USDT running on Tron blockchain. Extremely low fees (~$1) and fast confirmations (seconds). Best choice for deposits and withdrawals.

ERC-20

USDT running on Ethereum blockchain. Higher fees ($5-20) depending on network congestion. Generally not worth using for casino deposits.

P2P (Peer-to-Peer)

Direct crypto trading between users, typically via escrow platform. Binance P2P is most popular for NGN/KES to USDT conversion.

→ P2P deposit guide

Wallet Address

The unique string identifying your crypto wallet. TRC-20 addresses start with 'T'. ERC-20 with '0x'. Always verify network matches.
