Founder & Editor ยท WagerScope

Software engineer ยท Honest math ยท NG/KE crypto-casino bonus analyst

I'm Fedele Pignatelli โ€” Frenk to most. I'm the founder and editor of WagerScope. I'm a software engineer, and I built WagerScope to solve a problem I kept seeing in offshore crypto-casino marketing aimed at Nigerian and Kenyan players: bonus offers that look generous on the headline but turn out negative-EV once you do the wagering math.

Every review, calculator, and comparison on this site uses the same model I run personally โ€” including testing deposits, withdrawals, and bonus claims with real funds before publishing. I work alone, which is why each casino covered receives a deep individual treatment rather than the broad, low-quality coverage typical of large affiliate sites.

Affiliate disclosure is honest and visible: WagerScope earns commission on signups, but reviews are based on the math, not the payout. When the EV is negative, the page says so โ€” even when WagerScope earns more by saying otherwise.

How I got here

I came to this from software engineering, not from gambling. The problem I was watching wasn't the gambling itself โ€” it was the marketing layer wrapped around it. Affiliate sites covering Nigeria and Kenya were quoting bonus headlines ("100% up to โ‚ฆ2.55M!") without ever showing the math behind the number. The wagering requirement, the game contribution, the max-bet rule, the expiry window โ€” these are the variables that decide whether a deposit becomes a withdrawal. They get buried.

So I built the deterministic model first. The Wagering Calculator on this site is the same engine that runs in every review and every comparison page. Then I built the editorial layer around it: a small number of casino reviews where each one is genuinely tested, not aggregated.

I'm Italian, not Nigerian or Kenyan. That matters for editorial discipline โ€” I don't pretend to local expertise I don't have. I rely on documented operator terms (FSGRN state-level URC framework and NLRC for the FCT in Nigeria, GRAK in Kenya, official T&C pages, bonus pages parsed weekly) and on tested deposits with real funds. Where local nuance matters (M-Pesa flows, OPay onramps, Nairaland-reported withdrawal frictions), I cite the source explicitly.

How I review

Every casino on WagerScope goes through the same review pipeline:

  1. Test deposit with real funds. I make a real deposit on the operator with my own money, using the payment rail typical for the target market (NGN bank for NG, M-Pesa for KE, USDT TRC-20 for crypto operators).
  2. Math validation against published T&Cs only. Wagering, RTP, max-bet, expiry, contribution tiers โ€” all parsed from the operator's own published terms. Never from marketing copy.
  3. Test claim and withdrawal. I attempt to clear the bonus, attempt the withdrawal, document the timing.
  4. Republish on terms change. Bonus T&Cs are re-verified weekly via a scheduled review. Regulatory pages (FSGRN URC + state-level licensing post-22/11/2024, NLRC limited to FCT, GRAK, Kenya Finance Act 2026) are reviewed quarterly minimum, sooner on operator notification.
  5. Visible "Last verified" date on every casino review, comparison, and compliance-sensitive page.

Affiliations & disclosure

WagerScope earns affiliate commissions on player signups and deposits made through some of the links on this site. Commission rates vary by operator (typically 15โ€“35% revenue share), and actual monthly revenue can be lower or even negative in months when players win big.

Conflict-of-interest disclosure. I currently maintain real-money player accounts on the casinos I review. Active player accounts: 1xBet, BC.Game. Having my own money on these platforms means I'm reviewing actual UX, not screenshots โ€” and I'm financially exposed if they fail to pay out, which sharpens my incentives to be honest about withdrawal friction.

Paid content policy: I never accept paid content placement. The affiliate revshare disclosed above is the only commercial relationship between WagerScope and any covered operator.
