Keep Rate = how much of the bonus you statistically retain after completing wagering requirements (assumes optimal play). Scroll the table horizontally on small screens to see all columns.
Mozzart rows are sports free bets: the first deposit is played once (1x) on a 4+ leg ticket and the free bet is credited afterwards. The Keep Rate shown uses the same house-edge model as the other rows and does not model the free-bet stake-not-returned mechanic — open the operator review for the full wagering structure before depositing.

Low-wagering sports bonus
$50 sports free bet, 5x rollover on accumulators (Mozzart-style)
Keep Rate
50%
Expected value
+$25
Total to wager
$2,500
Verdict
GOOD
Low-wagering sportsbook bonuses are usually positive-EV when the qualifying-odds floor is reasonable. The 5x rollover on table-style contribution math is the friendliest shape in this comparison.
Typical match bonus
$100 casino bonus, 35x wagering, slots-only (1xBet/BC.Game-style welcome)
Keep Rate
0%
Expected value
$-5
Total to wager
$3,500
Verdict
TRAP
The 35x slots shape is the modal welcome bonus on crypto casinos. It is roughly break-even — the Keep Rate sits in the 0–10% range. Worth claiming only if you would already deposit and play; not worth depositing extra to chase.
Sticky high-wagering trap
$200 sticky bonus, 50x wagering, slots-only (offshore high-roller offer)
Keep Rate
0%
Expected value
$-100
Total to wager
$10,000
Verdict
TRAP
50x sticky on slots is the worst-of-both: the house edge eats more than the bonus, and the sticky condition means the bonus itself is not withdrawable. Negative-EV by construction. Skip.
How to read your result
The calculator surfaces five numbers. They tell you, in order: how much of the bonus you statistically keep, how hard it is to clear, how much you have to bet to clear it, what the math expects you to end with, and how often you actually finish without busting the bonus mid-rollover.
Keep Rate
The single most important number. It is the percentage of the bonus you statistically retain after completing wagering — a compressed, intuitive substitute for raw Expected Value. A 35-point Keep Rate on a $100 bonus means you walk away with $35 on average, before any operator-side withholding tax. Full definition.
Wagering Difficulty
A label (Easy / Low / Medium / High / Very High) derived from the wagering multiplier alone. It does NOT account for game contribution — a 35x slots and 35x table-games bonus look the same here even though their actual cost-to-clear is wildly different. Read it as “how often will I have to put the bonus in play”, not “how expensive is the rollover”.
Total to Wager
The actual sum of all bets you must place before the bonus becomes withdrawable. For a $100 bonus at 35x with 100% slots contribution, that is $3,500 in cumulative stakes. For 10% table contribution, the same 35x balloons to $35,000 because every $1 staked counts as $0.10 toward the requirement.
Expected Value
The signed currency value the calculator expects you to end with after wagering — “Bonus minus house-edge cost”. Positive means the bonus is worth claiming on EV alone; negative (a TRAP verdict) means the rollover destroys more value than the bonus offers. Always interpret EV as an average across many sessions, not a guarantee on any single one.
Survival Probability
The probability that your starting balance lasts through the full wagering requirement without busting. It is a function of wagering multiplier and house edge, independent of bonus size. At 35x slots the survival probability is ~−5% (below zero meaning “mathematically you are expected to bust before clearing”); at 5x table games it is ~95%. A bonus with a compelling Keep Rate but a poor survival probability is a real-world TRAP — you cannot collect EV that you cannot reach.
What changes my Keep Rate the most?
Game contribution and wagering multiplier dominate every other input. Bonus size and currency are amount-scale only — the Keep Rate on a $10 bonus equals the Keep Rate on a $10,000 bonus at the same shape. The matrix below is for a reference $100 bonus.
| Game type | 10x | 20x | 30x | 40x | 50x |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Blackjack | 0% | 0% | 0% | 0% | 0% |
| Table games | 0% | 0% | 0% | 0% | 0% |
| Mixed | 60% | 20% | 0% | 0% | 0% |
| Slots | 70% | 40% | 10% | 0% | 0% |
Verdict colours: green ≥70% (great), neutral 10–69% (decision- relevant — read carefully), red <10% (skip). The diagonal pattern is the rule of thumb — keep rate falls fastest as you move from blackjack toward slots, slower as you move from 10x toward 50x. Combined, the bottom-right of the table is where bonus traps live.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are wagering requirements?
Wagering requirements (also called playthrough or rollover) determine how many times you must bet the bonus amount before you can withdraw winnings. For example, a $100 bonus with 35x wagering means you must place $3,500 in total bets.
How does house edge affect my bonus value?
Every casino game has a built-in house edge — the percentage the casino expects to keep over time. Slots typically have a 3% edge, table games 1%, and blackjack 0.5%. The higher the wagering requirement, the more you lose to the house edge, reducing your bonus value.
Are crypto casino bonuses worth it?
It depends on the wagering requirement and game contribution. Low wagering (under 20x) on games with low house edge can offer positive expected value. High wagering (40x+) on slots usually means the house edge will eat most of the bonus. Use our calculator to check before you deposit.
Why does the calculator show a lower Keep Rate when I select KES?
Kenya's Finance Act 2026 (in force since 1 July 2026) imposes a 20% withholding tax on net gambling winnings, deducted by the operator at payout — it reinstated the tax on winnings that the Finance Act 2025 had dropped. The 5% withholding tax on betting-wallet withdrawals introduced by the 2025 Act also remains in statute; how the two layers interact awaits KRA guidance, and it is not modeled here. When you select KES as the calculator's currency, an additional line surfaces the post-tax Keep Rate — your gross bonus EV minus the 20% withheld on positive winnings. For losing or break-even bonuses, no tax applies (there are no winnings to withhold). The calculator models the net-winnings basis (historic practice); the enacted 2026 text left net-vs-gross payout to KRA guidance. Note: a separate 5% excise duty on amounts deposited applies at locally-licensed Kenyan operators (Mozzart KE, Betika, SportPesa, and also 1xBet and BC.Game in Kenya, which run as 1xbet.co.ke and bcgame.ke and are on the GRAK 2025/26 register, checked 29 September 2026) — broadened by the 2026 Act to include operator-funded bonuses — but it does not reach sites that hold no Kenyan licence. It is not modeled in the bonus EV here: at a licensed operator, allow for it on top of the figure shown.
